Our Story
The Busy Bean grew out of a simple belief: that the best things in life are made slowly, by hand, and shared generously. What started as weekend baking for neighbors has become the heartbeat of downtown Soap Lake.
Every loaf, every tart, every cup of coffee is prepared in-house using recipes that have been refined over years — not months. We source locally whenever we can, and we never cut corners on ingredients. That's not marketing; that's just how we do things.
Nothing pre-made, nothing frozen. Every item is prepared fresh each morning.
We open at 6 AM because great bread doesn't wait — and neither do we.
We're a gathering place — for coffee dates, quick breakfasts, and everything in between.
What We Make
Rotating with the seasons and always made in small batches. Stop by early — the good stuff doesn't last.
Wild-fermented sourdough with a crackling crust and tangy, open crumb. Also available: rosemary focaccia, olive flatbread, and seeded whole grain — all baked to order.
72-layer laminated dough, French butter, made from scratch every night. Classic croissant, almond croissant, and seasonal fruit danish — our most popular morning items.
Order ahead for birthdays, anniversaries, or Sunday dinner. We bake a rotating selection of fruit pies and take custom cake orders with at least 48 hours notice.
Locally roasted coffee, house-made syrups, matcha lattes, and fresh-squeezed juice. Hot or cold — we make it the way you like it, every time.
